Wanted to write this ever since I read the comic book, then I'm online one day and I see the headline "Batman: Hush is getting an animated adaptation", I was so ecstatic. Not just because I like Batman but because of the uniqueness of this story written by Jeph Loeb, penciled by Jim Lee, inked by Scott Williams and colored by Alex Sinclair from 2002 to 2003. I'm particularly fond of Jim Lee's art.. 😊😊
The comic book features an ensemble list of characters such as Batman, Catwoman, Alfred, James Gordon, Oracle (Barbara Gordon), Superman, Lois Lane, Nightwing, Robin, Huntress, Lex Luthor, Amanda Waller, Hush, Joker, Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, Ra's al ghul, Talia al ghul, Lady Shiva, Killer Croc, Riddler and lots more. If you know DC to an extent, you'll know these are wonderful characters all pulled into one story. So how does all of this play out? Well, here's the link for the comic.. Hush is portrayed as a mysterious stalker who knows Batman's identity and manipulates events and people in Batman's life with the intent of destroying him.
On to the animation.. It'll be released on the 20th of this month and yes, we have a trailer 😄.. Also, it's not going to be a complete adaptation of the comic book meaning we won't get all the scenes of the comic on TV. That's because there are some slight changes to the characters in the comic which is cool for me. I'd love to see how the writers take a different approach to it, something to look out for while watching the animation. Though that doesn't mean we won't get some lines or scenes that are straight outta the comic like Catwoman saying "like the view, it's the only thing you'll catch tonight" to Batman 😊..
New characters in the animation that are not in the comic are Damian Wayne (Robin) and Bane while Killer Croc, Ra's al ghul and Talia al ghul aren't in the animation.. This is because the animation is part of an ever growing DC universe of animated movies; one in which we've had some Batman movies like Son of Batman, Batman vs. Robin and Batman: Bad Blood all in 2014, 2015 and 2016 respectively. So you can think of them as a substitution for new characters making slight changes to the comic book storyline. Tim Drake is Robin in the comic while it's Damian Wayne in the animation, Barbara Gordon on the other hand was first known as Batgirl before getting a bullet through her spinal cord from the Joker 🙁, making her to retire from crime fighting to being a tech whiz known as Oracle. She was portrayed as Oracle in the comic but since we are seeing her for the first time in this animation universe, she's Batgirl. If you saw Batman: Bad Blood, you will notice she was seen in the closing scenes of the movie as some sorta teaser.
Let's take a look at the trailer..
So;
Let that last line in the trailer reverberate on and on 😆..
Hush Batman.. Hush! 🤫

Let's take a look at the trailer..
- Bruce is suiting up as Batman (I can't unsee that 😊).. He's using a dark blue version of his suit, something that Jim Lee explored very well in the comic.
- Then he's chasing Catwoman where she drops that dope line - straight outta the comic storyline.
- Poison Ivy is controlling Superman to kill Batman and Catwoman - straight outta the comic storyline
- Batman knows his stalker's name is Hush (thanks to Poison Ivy) on time - different approach to the comic storyline
- Batman and Nightwing are investigating Hush's carefully planned manipulation and orchestration of events - straight outta the comic storyline although Batman did more of the investigation as the detective that he is. Not sure if Nightwing joined the detective work from the trailer.
- Nightwing: "it's like they are all crawling out from under the carpets now".. Reference to the number of villains that kept showing up. Villains who didn't even know they were being manipulated by Hush. Scarecrow, Poison Ivy, Harley Quinn and Joker are seen.
- Batman acknowledges the fact that Hush knows his identity and has been one step ahead of him the whole time - straight outta the comic storyline.
- Riddler's thugs are also shooting at the batmobile (a waste of bullets 😏).. In the comic, Riddler called the batmobile an object with four wheels, having a price of 11 million dollars and can fly. He did this in the form of a riddle (of course.. How else will he do it? 😂). Will be nice to see this in the movie.
- Catwoman makes mention of a trail getting cold.. She's working with Batman in this story and their on and off romantic relationship is also explored - straight outta the comic storyline.
- Hush is obviously having fun..
- Finally, one epic moment that's also straight outta the comic storyline. Hush shoots Batman's grapple while he is in mid-air and Batman has a taste of the law of gravity in a "not so good" manner.. And then the mysterious stalker himself, having seen another part of his plan executed perfectly, declares "Hush Batman.. Hush!" 😂😂
Let that last line in the trailer reverberate on and on 😆..
