It is well known that people fear what they don't understand. The X-Men stories have always portrayed that perfectly with the disdain of some humans towards mutants. Ever try to look at it from a 'reverse' perspective? People do not fear/take pleasure in/like what they understand.
Same thing goes for either Marvel or DC or even both. In this context, it's not 'fear' but more like 'no interest'. There's a kinda popular theory among some fans that you have to choose between DC and Marvel. Now some people have genuine reasons for being a Marvel fan and not DC and vice versa. In the end, it all comes down to what you like. Might not even be the whole of Marvel or DC, it could be a specific show or the live action movies or the comics.

But the idea that you have to choose which fictional universe to follow between Marvel and DC is a misconception. You don't have to. If you like both of them, cool and even if you don't, still cool. Personally, I like both universes. So the whole 'which is your fav between Marvel and DC' is something to be dismissed for me.
Another misconception is unnecessary comparison. I see stuff like this almost everyday. People comparing characters from Marvel & DC. While some comparisons are actually cool to gist about based on the similarities between the characters and all, some other comparisons are just unnecessary and frankly 'unworthy'. I'll also like to add that this isn't just between Marvel and DC characters, but also from different TV franchises. Comparing characters, raising one up, pulling the other one down especially main characters with their own storylines. Uh-huh, not cool π

These kind of comparisons will just lead to a waste of time. In the end, both sides of the argument won't change their opinions which could even be wrong. Lol why would you compare Wonder Woman with Captain Marvel or Flash with Spider-Man? Especially the comparison of 'who will win in a fight?' I find it weird to just pit characters up like that especially ones with little or no similarity.

Thing is, comparisons usually start out as fun talk, nothing serious, just sharing of opinions but it has a tendency to turn to a full blown argument. So personally, I tend to not even get involved in such comparisons unless the other person has a wrong opinion about a character I know very well or something.
Also, some fans already have this perspective in their mind that a particular character is better than another so they present it to others with the intent to portray the one they like in such an awesome way and portray the one they don't like in a very degrading way - Superman v Thor for instance π€¦πΌ♂️ I did mention seeing 'unworthy' comparisons, right?
Why not like the characters for who they are and what they represent and don't compare them on a basis of 'who will win in a fight?' This is just my opinion, you might have a differing one by having fun in your own way with these comparisons based on what you like or what you don't like and what you've seen in movies or TV shows.
You're having fun, you shouldn't complicate it or use it to mislead others. Do enjoy what you find as fun in Marvel and DC ✨
